I just use this thing on top of a CGS spider for a lowered grate sometimes. But I forgot about it for a while and it sat outside and now is full of rust. Bits are flaking off. It's not in good shape. Is there a way to restore it? Or trash it and buy anther?

Wire brush/wheel or sand to remove the chunky stuff, reseason, carry on.BrandonQuad Cities

High Heat in egg or in oven on clean cycle. May need to hit it with a wire wheel/cutting wire wheel. Then season as normal. NO DO NOT TRASH!!!LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

Very normal. This is why I don't use my CI grate.
