So you have to have wifi, correct? Meaning, it will not connect to good LTE Verizon service?

I am in a bbq competition Starting Friday night, turn in is at 1 Saturday...we are going to set up our 2 xl eggs at location Friday night (friends in the pro competition will be there all night so will security/cops, our spot is right next to my buddies who are competing in the pro) and I was hoping to maybe be able to go home and monitor my butts via flameboss 200. Doubt I can do since there will not be wifi? Thanks for any input.

Create a hot spot using your phone.  I've never tried it, but can't see how it wouldn't work.

That's the only thing, ideally, my phone would be home w/ me.

Without wifi the FB200 resorts to operating like a FB100 ... it'll control your pit temp, you just can't monitor it from afar.  It'll have the same operational characteristics as a DigiQ Dx2.  You'll have to get your buddies to check on it periodically.

I haven't tried it, but you should be able to turn your 4G phone into a hot spot, connect the FB to it, and monitor off your computer at home.

It will work on a hotspot......no problem.

And you don't need Wi-Fi for it to do its job, you just lose the remote monitoring and management

Have one of your friends next door turn on their phone's hot spot and log in to it.
