There have been a lot of burger posts lately....

....here is mine.

I cannot get The Spouse trained to understand ketchup is for burgers, mustard is for sausages.

Some of you might recall I have been dieting and counting calories.  This meal fits in fine, as long as I don't eat for the next two days.

I need to learn to make thinner, bigger-diameter burgers; those look delicious!

Well heated raised grid, but you don't need to be told that.  These are one cup balls of burger, well smashed.  Cooks a lot longer than you would think to get that nice char.  Those are Mike's buns.  Calorie horrors but tasty.

Question for you Doc - just wondering why you cook them on a raised grid if you want char?

edit: Looks delicious by the way!

I can control the cook easier without having to hover over it while I am doing other things in the kitchen.  I like to do steaks lowered or even caveman sometimes but raised is easier for most things.

A friend of mine who has some Bosnian and Serbian ancestry was talking about Pljeskavica (PLYESS-kah-vee-tsah), once, and they sounded really wonderful to me.  I have a few recipes and mean to try them, one day.  They're very thin and very wide, and made with a mixture of meats often including lamb.  Here's one recipe.
