NOLA Eggers, I am in town visiting Loyola New Orleans for my daughter and I was wondering...

other than your homes, where would you recommend getting some good Q? My wife found this list

Looks legit.  Try some and let us know how they are.  I don't eat at BBQ restaurants locally (or vary rarely).  So much good food here and we're not known for our BBQ, although there are, I hear, some rising stars.

@nolaegghead, I agree, I have been down here several times in the past, and each time... BBQ is not on the top of the list of things to try of good eats in this area. Headed to Pascal's Manale tonight.

However, we did try The Joint (on the list)last night. They were actually smoking their stuff out back - the first good sign that it was not a fake BBQ joint.

Overall, not bad. I tried a  sampler plate of their brisket, pulled-pork, and ribs.

@bob.bud - I hear ya.  I need to expand my horizons.  We cook 95% of the time.  Usually going out is oysters, red beans and rice at a greasy spoon - and that's lunch when I'm at work.
