Can anyone explain to me how to turn the ramp mode on? I'm 3/4 way through a brisket cook and can't figure it out...

I don't hav the link right off hand, but you can go to BBQ Guru's website and download the instruction manual.

I read in the manual that you need to turn it off and set the temp? Does that mean unplug it? I'm confused, sorry I just got it. Thanks for your help everyone.

If you hold down the power and menu buttons down together, it will the display will blink and go to "alr" alarm mode, continue holding down and it will change to either "ran" ramp no or "ray" ramp yes. This is ramp mode. In this mode touch the menu button to switch between the 2 modes.
I hope this helps.SE PA

Sorry, I probably just confused the crap out of you. The up and down buttons not the power menu buttons.SE PA

Awesome! Thank you so much!

With the unit plugged in to change pit temp, just push the pit button, release it then immediately push up or down button to desired pit temp.SE PA

You must set it in the Setup menu. To get there, press the up & down buttons simultaneously. You should see "ALr" the alarm deviation setting. Press up & down again and you should see "rAn". This is the ramp setting and the factory preset is no. To engage the ramp setting, press up. The display should be "rAY".Flint, Michigan

Also, don't forget the back of unit has handy reference.

What exactly is ramp mode for? My digi is up and running some spares right now.Seattle, WA

The ramp feature turns off the fans when the meat is close to the target temp. It gives you a larger window to remove the food before it overlooks.Flint, Michigan

@Fred19Flintstone is correct in the intent of the ramp mode, but the Guru modulates the fan rather than simply turning it off. Here's what the manual says:
This mode is used for slow cooks so the food never over cooks. This feature will gradually lower the pit temperature to the food setpoint temperature when the food is within 30 degrees of being done. The controller will hold the pit temperature slightly above the food setpoint as long as there is fuel.

Quick question. By fan doesn’t seem to be working. Any thoughts on why that would be. I have used it in past with no troubles.Midland, TX XLBGE
