Cast Iron Blue Cheese Burgers
Tried burgers in a cast iron skillet tonight. 500 degrees. 4 minutes per side plus 1 more minute after second flip with blue cheese on top to melt. Toasted the buns on a raised rack during the last minute. Pulled burgers and charred some romaine lettuce for about 30 seconds per side. Turned out well. My 16 year old son said it was the best thing yet from the egg. I almost forgot to take the plated finish shot - too busy chowing down!
One large BGE in Louisville, KY.

Great looking burgers! Great job!

Looks good! I'm just wondering...is there an advantage to using the cast iron to putting them directly on the grate?

Imo, a really hot ci pan gives a nice crust. I like a non ribbed pan to get maximum crust but that's just personal preference.Phoenix -
