This is probably a stupid question, but how do you cut a perfect circle that large?

Jigsaw can work as well. 

Or you can go on a search for one massive hole saw.

I used my router and a circle jig. Did it in multiple passes dropping the bit lower each time.

I measured center, attached pencil to string and traced and cut with a jig saw 21 inches for a lg egg.
