Egg Drop Soup and Egg Rolls

No egg = off topic

After the snow stopped I shoveled the back porch so I could egg some chicken for the egg rolls but the snow falling from the trellis made it kinda like a bomb field so I decided to cook inside.

For the first sin I boiled some chicken for the egg rolls.  Then mixed with some broccoli slaw, scallions and some teriyaki sauce. Once it cooled I rolled the rolls and cooked in the silver hot box inside.

The soup was chicken stock, baby ports, green onions and 3 lightly beaten eggs stirred in at the end.

Don't care for egg drop soup, but The Spouse does.  I love egg rolls.  Nice change up cook.

What did you roll the rolls in? Commercial product or something you made? Family loves egg rolls, and I've been on an Asian kick....

Damn boiled chicken stunk up my house.  Smells like grandma was making chicken dumplings.  On second thought I don't guess it's all bad cause it brought back some good memories.

I gotta admit, I use a chinese method for cooking chicken for salad, eggrolls, even sammiches:  bring a pot of water to a boil, drop in the clucker, and turn the heat off, lid, and Walk Away!
One hour later, she's cooked.  No Paillard Reaction flavors at all (browning) nor smoke nor any spices, but it's perfect, tender, juicy and in certain applications it's great!

OP:  that looks like an excellent dinner!  I usually order hot-n-sour soup in a restaurant, but love egg drop on occasion too (and it's a LOT easier to make!)

I started to velvet the chicken them chop but just want in the mood. The results were good like you said but I think the velveted would have been a touch better.
