Tri-Tip Take 1

I did my first ever Tri-Tip tonight and was pleased with the result. It was a Morton's packaged one that they sell at Costco, and for me was pretty strongly salted so I presume it's soaking or injected with something or other but I didn't look far into that. Minor complaint at most, and only I felt that way amongst my Mom and Wife who shared the dinner.
Process was simple, 225-250 indirect w/ smoke for about 45-60 min or so (til it got to 120 internal), then I seared it direct 3 minutes per side or so.
I'll definitely do one of these again, but probably forego the Morton's/Costco one.

I've had tri-tip twice, to me tastes like sirloin steak. Looks good!“There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body.”

Looks good ... that's one cut that I haven't tried yet ... thanks for the input on the Costco cut being salty.

@blind99 it was actually a salad in a Food Network Magazine that I thought looked interesting so I gave it a try. It's a Blood Orange Fennel salad, and here is a link:

Sorry for the latent reply.
