Gonna try my hand (pun intended) with a Tri Tip I bought from HEB. Just shy of 3lbs. I seasoned it with Montreal Steak Seasoning and some extra garlic powder.
Sides are bacon wrapped asparagus and green beans. Sweet and regular Taters.
Set the egg up for indirect cook with my AR. Target temp of the egg was 325*. Cooked till an IT of 125* for the Tri-Tip, then pulled everything and get the pit up for a high temp searing of the Tri-Tip, two minutes each side.
Before the sear.
After the sear.
Asparagus and green beans done.
Pulled at 125*. After the sear IT was 135*. I was shooting for rare to medium rare. I still have to learn how to cut these. Some slices I nailed. Others were a tad off. All in all it was a good cook. Thanks for looking.

Great looking. I love a tri tip.
When slicing, just be sure to cut across the grain.
Remember, that will change along the length of the roast, so keep an eye on it.John in the Willamette Valley of Oregon -
Thanks. Yes the grain is a little challenging. The first few slices were off. When I sliced it correctly, it was great. I'll have to try again.LBGE, Weber Grills, Silverback Pellet grill, PBC. No I don't have a grill issue.
