There isn't much of anything between AC and PHL. PHL, Pat's or Gino's for cheese-steaks. One of the best restaurants I've been to in PHL was R2L.

I don't know what to recommend in AC. I'll be in north NJ next week, up around Berkeley Heights and Raritan.

No offense but terrible area- if you can head to red bank, nj there are some decent spots. If you are willing to head into philly there are some really good spots.  I haven't been there in a couple years so I am assuming they are still there- butcher and singer (good steak), morimoto (Japanese and really good). For lower key head to readings terminal market- Dominic's is a great spot but it's a cool food spot. There are other great spots if you let me know what you are interested in or a price range.

@Wolfpack the problem is, I have to go to AC Tuesday night for a show wed  and Thursday. If I had my druthers, I'd be in Dalton all week. Can't get there from here, therefore, Philly.

Understood- I travel three nights a week myself.  Don't have any good recommendations around ac as I haven't been there in 10 years or so. But philly has some good spots.

  • @theyolksonyouAC is my backyard.  Casual in AC: Subs (Hoagies) in AC - The White House.  Pizza-Baltimore Grill.  Italian-Angelo's.  More upscale in AC outside of the casinos:  Italian-Chef Vola or Cafe 2825, you will not be disappointed.

A bunch of great places in the casinos.  Let me know where you'll be and what your looking for and I can narrow it down for you.

@Gonnaneedabiggeregg I'm looking for a nice dinner option. No steak, something I'm not likely to cook. Seafood would be awesome.

Check out Los Amigos 1926 Atlantic Ave. Also there are some decent reasonable places in the French Quarter, namely Rí Rá Irish Pub.

I'm not sure they are "can't miss" but we always hit them on our tequila crawls.
  • For Seafood there is Harry's Oyster Bar (inside Bally's).  They also own the Knife and Fork Inn (Seafood and Steaks) and Dock's Oyster House but Dock's is closed right now.  Seafood options limited in the winter.  The Chart House is over in the marina district at the Golden Nugget and Borgata has a bunch of upscale places.

I agree with "Hungry Joe"  if your looking for a "self contained" pub crawl.  Inside the Tropicana is The Quarter, a Havana themed area with national chain bars and restaurants (PF Chang's, Burger Bar, Cuba Libre, Carmine's among others).  Los Amigo's is always a good casual Mexican place outside the confines of the casinos.
