BBQ Guru, DigiQ Dx2 not working

I've had it for one year and have used it with no issues. Now when I turn it on I only get the three dashes (---) for PIT / FOOD temp. I have replaced the probes with new ones and get the same problem. Anyone have similar issues?

Are you plugging the probe wires into the unit before connecting it to power? No idea what happens if you try to power up first, I just remember the instructions saying not to.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

  • Well I have tried both ways. Would think that could damage it?

Make sure that your probes are pushed in all the way.

Not to get technical, but according to chemistry alcohol is a solution...

Mine did that and I called BBQ Guru support. I had to send it in as some of the models had issues with buttons sticking. They fixed it, recalibrated it and sent it back to me. Give them a call, they are very helpful
  • I had a similar problem with mine - sent an email to customer service, and after a brief correspondence determined that the circuit board had somehow blown. They asked me to send it in, they tested it, and replaced the board and sent it back. All under warranty, and they turned it around quickly. Great service.
  • Not the same issue but my fan just stopped working yesterday

Check the wires at the fan. Mine had broke at the solder joint. Resoldered it and applied a dab of silicone over the joint to help eliminate the wires from flexing at the solder joint.

+1 on @pescadorzih suggestion.  I opened up the blower on my Bubba guru when it was new to add some silicone as a strain relief ... no problems with it so far.
