OT: problem with Amazon ordering - any help appreciated! :OT

Since last night I have been trying to order some things from Amazon. While it lets me sign in and find what I want I can not add it to my cart. Instead I get the dreaded Apple spinning beachball. That makes me think the problem is on my end, but I don't know why. Any ideas? BTW I have signed out and signed back in and that doesn't help. I also have a partial order pending that I can't cancel, nor can I add to for some reason.

They were having problems all day yesterday. We couldn't transmit information to them for a couple of hours yesterday.  It might be happening on the consumer side now.  Without a doubt they will fix it

Thanks - that was exactly my thought as well. I have since been able to delete the partial order that has been hung up so I know there had to have been a problem on their end. Maybe a fix is in process!

Have you tried accessing Amazon from a different device? The Amazon app behaves differently on my iphone vs android phone.

I've been trying this new thing, its not an app on your phone or computer.

They have these mini distribution center thingys.  You walk in and look around their stock.  If you see something you like you can pick it up right there.  Then you usually carry it or put it in a buggy and bring it towards the front.

Once up front you interface with a real person and pay them.  Then, the coolest thing, you get to bring it home right then.

Their variety isn't as good as Amazon and you have to find the one that specializes in what you want.

Other than that its pretty neat.  You get to even look at and touch the item before you buy!!
I patronized two separate distribution center thingys yesterday. It sucked on all levels.

    Yuck.

@RRP  sounds like the server side is hung on your transaction, so our account is open but locked against changes. Usually timeouts occur in 20 min.  You could try to clear all your cookies (on the computer - not your table) and another reboot.  If that works, it would be strange, but you have nothing to lose. I do not think it is client side issue.  That is all I can suggest.

That is a definite negative, but it can be exciting too.  Sometimes if they get to "talky"  I start screaming while waving my hands and spinning in circles.  That usually will end the interaction.  I equate it to "ctrl-alt-delete".

But that is assuming this place actually has what you want in stock.

That's part of the appeal.  Its like a scavanger hunt.  Plus you will leave with stuff you didn't even know you needed.

My grandfather told me about those places.  He said on the first Saturday of the month they would hitch up the wagon and head to town.  That was of course only if they were finished beating the cloths against the rocks in the crick.

No, not Charlie Sheen, but I did install the most recent A**le upgrade which caused me fits for nearly a day working with A**le Care folks and being kicked upstairs two levels before someone was knowledgeable to fix the issue! OTOH I'm still having email problems with it. As I already said I placed my Amazon order this afternoon using my iPad. That tells me my iMac software is the culprit!

I have a coworker who lost all his contacts on his phone when doing an update. They basically force them on you and then you get this crap!

For a day after I thought I had lost my address book as well, but by trial and error I found it after all. But here's what was really ticked me off...I lost all of my sent email histories but it saved or found shall I say 29,000 incoming emails and it took 6 hours to down load them to my iMac and I couldn't stop it!
