It's not an ace hardware from what I know and they are the #1 egg dealer in GA.

My mistake on the Ace affiliation.
    Actually, in the world.

I try to pay patronage to my dealer for BGE & hard to find hardware. I'd be less likely to shop there if they weren't helpful across the board. Some people just don't possess good customer service skills whether it be on the phone or in person. Clearly if they are #1 in GA they're doing something right.

@NPHuskerFL there's plenty of places out there that focus on nuts and bolts, I'm thankful to have a place that focuses on BGE and related stuff locally. It was nice to look at an AR before I bought it.

They move the most Eggs due to low package pricing based on volume discounts from GHS Distribution compared to other Atlanta and ACE dealers. GHS also has a local warehouse so shipping costs are minimal and product is essentially on-demand.

I'm about the same distance from the Mothership as I am to Roswell Hardware.

Like the Mothership, Roswell Hardware is not worth going out of your way for (IMHO) unless you want them to load a new Egg in your vehicle.

Other than that, anything Egg related they carry can be bought online.

As far as pricing, the only Egg I looked into was the Minimax for $499 and the Platesetter was "free" on 12/5 only. I think the December sale goes on for a couple more weeks but the big promo day is over.

@kwdickert  @THEBuckeye  It's very clear that the hardware side of the business is not their main focus. My suggestion is that you go to Home Depot/Lowes for your nuts and bolts. However, they are the BGE Superstore for all of your BGE branded and aftermarket accessories.

So an Ace Hardware that's not focused on hardware. Obviously they sling a lot of BGE stuff and Stihl but, at the end of the day I would bet inventory would prove hardware and such still dominate overall. Of course they focus more on BGE & Stihl sales because of the profit margin. It's Ace Hardware but, they don't want to help customers with hardware needs?  Yep sounds like an awesome place to shop.

They are a Do It Best. I'm just explaining it as I see it. Go visit, stand at their counter for an hour and you'll understand.
Don't you do demo cooks there?

Yes he mentioned earlier in this thread that he was there cooking for the demo and will be back on Saturday.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

  • Yes, Craig does cook there from time to time.  Its on my calendar to make to his or Coach Chris's cooks on Saturdays.

As far as traveling to get there....  I love SOUTH of Altanta's 2-Dead-Mayors-Airport....  I'll drive the 75 minutes on a good day, and 2.5 on a bad traffic day one way to get there if I needed something.  I'll pass by at least 10-15 other dealers to go here.

On the spot warranty parts on firebox and ring for me.

Every rub imaginable.  Every accessory I've seen on here is there.  Digi-Q  to the Flame Boss.  And dang near every thermopen item!

The guys there have always been nice to me.  I'm typically in scrubs - that can cover anyone from nursing students to x-ray techs, to MD's....  All spectrums of the pay scale.  They are laid back and will simply ask you if you need anything.  I just like wandering around and seeing things.  If I need something specific, I'll ask for help and I'll be taken directly to it.  I've never felt like I was snubbed to slighted.

Unfortunately, I can't make it.  Wife's company has their Christmas Party tonight in Peachtree City at the Wyndham with an OPEN BAR.....  I won't be moving tomorrow!!!!

I love yelp reviewers....generally a bunch of entitled cry babies that think we all want to read their long drawn out reviews.

i say kudos to the business who does not bow down to online reviewer sand run their business as they see fit.

@SkinnyV I give Yelp reviews. Both good and bad. Problem is most people only voice the bad. Kind of like the Ahole whom I apparently "cut off" this AM driving to my first call. I've never received a call from any of the motorists out there I waive in or am courteous to which is far more than cutting off people. So yeah I agree people are whiny little bitches!

Yes, sometimes. None of the Yelp reviews are about the food!   ;)

    But not my classes!  ;)

The employees, aka the owners, have always gone out of their way to help me. (yes, even before I started working with them) They do a great job of keeping a ton of inventory and are always up to speed on the cutting edge accessories.

I would definitely classify them as a grill shop that has hardware vs a hardware shop that sells eggs.

That's like when the NFL says superbowl champions are best in the world, that distinction means very little.
