Pecan Smoke Roasted Chicken

Split the chickens in half and rubbed them with a generous coating of Earl Campbell's Rib Rub. Set the egg at 300 indirect with three chunks of pecan wood and set the chicken on bone side down until the thighs registered 170 and pulled them off. I served it with Franklin BBQ sauce and confetti corn. Best juicy smoked chicken ever!!! The rub and pecan smoke really gave it a great dark amber color without being too harsh and the taste was spot on. It will definately be my go to method for chicken from now on.
