Looking for a resource to make custom sunbrella cover for egg table....

I have a $1350 quote from local tet and awning company....just want to see if it is competitive. Before spending that kind of money....I want to see what alternatives might be out there.

beautiful "table". I hope you have that on a slant or risers or some drainage underneath in the event of rain. While a cover will be nice gravity will send water back under it if not.

@RRP  the pad is on a slant with a trench drain to the left. Think I am going to be good there. The table is built a top of treated frame. Also partially under an eve so hoping to minimize both rain and sun. Fingers crossed.

I think you could do better on the price. The first thing is to either have a sketch of what you want or be able to articulate that to the maker and have them come up with a cover and supports. While Sunbrella is good, I would not rule out vinyl or something like Top Gun. On top of my list would be easy removal and easy installation.

That sounds very high to me. I talked with a few locals and they told me $250 for mine. They ended up selling me the fabric at a super fair price and we cranked it out after Thanksgiving last week. Are you wanting anything special?

  • Nice set-up my friend!  Did you make the table?  or have it done - if so would love to have contact info for table maker - we have snagged our neighbor's son into possibly assisting us on build - but he's away at school until the summer.

Look at boat canvas places. We have a guy (in North Ga) that will make any cover out of any fabric to fit anything. Literally! Very fair price and excellent craftsmanship.

Pride, I travel over to north GA quite a bit as I have a daughter who lives over that way. Would be interested in their name if you have it handy.

No on the table build. That is beyond my capabilities on the construction front. I looked around quite a bit and talked to quite a few folks. Danny Matthews is his name and he has a furniture making shop....and does it full time...also an egg owner. He is located in Thomson GA (which is just west of Augusta) and provided me a reasonable delivery.....which I wanted given he had made a custom base for the cabinet. He worked with me and actually produced drawings on the design. I contracted locally on the Granite top. Also did some sourcing on that as well.

Here is a link to his website. matthewswoodcrafters.com  I had to put down half, and remainder of payment when complete......It was a 5 week lead time. He shared some pictures along the way and asked good detail questions while in the assembly (which way I wanted the doors to open etc.). I had a great experience....I believe it is well constructed....and I am comfortable with the price / value all said..

On the special needs, i think only to be able to make a color selection and obviously address the contour of the egg (and soon to add MM). The table is slightly longer than 8 feet with the granite top....so I expected a double cost type of impact.....

Just planning ahead my friend.....just planning ahead. Still leaving it open to the mini / Mini max purchase decision, and of course the coin.

Called them today......less than $700 quote. Appeciate the lead. Checking a couple more sources but certainly validates my suspicions regarding price.

Talk with Robbi?  She is the owner. I'm having her make a cover for my VacMaster VP-215.  Lol.   Anyway, the cover in sunbrella awning fabric for my table and large egg...all custom to my exact measurements was $450.  Much smaller than yours so $700 sounds like their prices haven't changed much from last year.

Is something missing on the right? You might check into ATV covers or some patio furniture covers, might work at a good savings.

Thanks to my Columbia, Gamecock and Egghead compadre @4Runner, I ordered and recieved my custom table cover yesterday. Gonna be happy with it I think. It was an expensive day however as I also had electricians hang a lamp over the table and beside the door. working on some outdoor art to hang....always a project. Oh, I also seared a nice RR Porterhouse for the wif and I.......to make sure the lighting met expectations. We achieved much Joy!

EDIT: just saw you received your new cover and paid a much more reasonable price.  What a beautiful setup. I bet the lighting really makes the space.  Congrats.
