Best Stain to use on Cyprus Table

What is the best type of stain to use on Cyprus table. I have a Minwax penetrating dark walnut stain. Also considering the honey or jacobean color. Should I use the penetrating stain or the gel stain. I am also going to use the helsman spar urathane. Any suggestions are appreciate.

It doesn't matter. Use the color you like in whatever form that it's in. The important part of the finish is the spar paint. Get something decent and put three coats on...follow instructions.______________________________________________I love lamp..

Bronze goes well with Cyprus.

Looks great. I did mine and it looks good as well. Yours really shows grain good. Did you do anything special?

Nothing special. Just sanded it with 220 grit and used a tack cloth prior to applying the stain. Used spray cans of spar urethane to finish it off.
