Can't help you decide, but the price is far far far cheaper than the YETI Coldster...but whether Thermos or YETI who really nurses a canned beer or soda for up to 3 hours?  =)

3 hours is too long to drink a beer (or soda). I keep my beer at home at room temperature. When boating in the summer I do use a cooler. Warm beer is fine by me; hot beer is not so good. Once I start drinking the beer cold, I do not want the last few drinks to be warm nor do I want to have to drink a can in 15-20 minutes. That's where these coolers come into play.

I was looking at the YETI Colster when I came across the ones made by Thermos. They are not pricey and yet a novelty to give as a present without breaking the bank.

I just got mine today.  The wall thickness feels like its about half of the Yeti's.  The rubber top fits a beer can well.  A thinner, glass bottle doesn't work.  Too much of a gap around the edges.  In the Yeti, the gasket holds it in place.  Here are a couple of pictures.  When I have some time I'll try a temperature test.

My initial feeling is that if you're planning to use it for cans of soda or beer it'll be perfectly good.  If it holds temperature reasonably well I'm going to buy a few more.  The Colster is awesome but I'm not going to buy a set of them.

Bottles seem to be a problem for the Thermos.

Here is an optional item that not only resolves that but also insulates the complete bottle.

I'd be interested in the results of your test. Put a can of beer in each and measure the temperature after 30 minutes. Pull the cans and repeat the test again. No one just drinks one beer.
