Smoked Brisket Chili

Long time lurker, first time (essentially) poster. I attempted my first brisket this past weekend which turned out pretty good if I must say so. No pictures while on the egg but you get the just of it. I took some of the leftovers and made @EggObsessed smoked brisket chili. It was amazing and I couldn't even wait until simmering it for 3 hours to eat it. I'm sure it will only get better after sitting in the fridge and "marinating" a little more. Chili always seems to be better as leftovers

Welcome! That's a nice smoke ring you have on that brisket, sir. That chili sounds amazing. Something I definitely will be trying this winter.

  • The chili looks great!  I like to simmer it long enough for the brisket to start falling apart.  Glad you liked it!

I made this chili for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it was great.  the only thing I would do differently is to make sure I have fresh chili powder, I was caught short and needed to augment with some older stuff in the back of the cabinet and I think that hurt me a bit.  despite that, it was fantastic.  I froze half the next day and am looking forward to pulling that out soon.
    Love you bro!

You'll NEVER go wrong making @EggObsessed Award Winning Smoked Brisket Chili.  I have a CAB Prime brisket on deck for Thanksgiving that will be remixed as chili.  Can't wait!!

Looks great!  I have a Sam's brisket sitting in the fridge now and some of it is destined to become chili.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

I made @EggObsessed chili it a few weeks ago and won my office chili contest (11 teams, very competitive). My uncle used the recipe and won a contest he entered as well. Fantastic recipe, thanks so much for sharing!

  • Looks great!  Are you guys and gals simmering/smoking the chili itself on the egg or stovetop?

I have done it both ways.  To be perfectly honest I don't know if I could tell the difference.  When you add the smoked brisket you get plenty of smoke flavor.  It probably picks up a little more on the egg but either way it will be great.

    That chili also looks awesome!
