Roast Beef for sammiches

Did this 4.5 lb eye of round yesterday and sliced it up today for lunches. Went indirect til 130. Will definitely use this cut again for roast beef Very tender!

Thanks for the post. Very timely for me. Just bought 1 today for eggzactly the same purpose. I'm hoping that for half the cost of pre-cooked and deli sliced, plus a little skill, we'll have lunch sammys for a couple of weeks.

Fine looking roast beef. It'll be better than deli beef, 'cause you did all the work.

If you cook it rare enough and slice it thin enough, eye round is awesome!! And as cheap as beef roast gets! Cubed (3/8" or so), it also makes a great bowl of red.
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

That's a nice looking eye round. I have a hard time finding ones that thick. Well done! I like mine with either Swiss and mayo or a little horseradish please.
