Big green egg Travel Trailer adapter

I am considering getting a Lacross travel trailer, which comes with an outdoor kitchen and swivel assembly from the rear bumper gas bbq grill... I am looking to convert that into a Large Egg holder... anyone see anything like this that can shed some insight, good idea or bad?

I would have a full custom swing made from a fab shop. I personally wouldn't risk having it fail

    Good point @slovelad thanks.
I often get ideas in my head that seem great because they will save money... And most of the time they bite me in the ass.

and If you are like me... It would be like loosing my first born if my egg broke

A small bumper gas grill weighs a LOT less than a large BGE. Custom fab shop build for sure. And take it really slow over the potholes and speed bumps.

I've had a small on a rack on the back of my Motorhome for 4k miles now. The fire ring and fire basket are busted to crap. Past that it's working great.

This sounds familiar.  I think it was @Thatgrimguy  thread if you want to read it. There is just too much bounce behind the axles.  Good idea, just not feasible with ceramics.

I know it may be heresy to suggest it but if you really want to take a kamado with you on the road you might want to consider an Akorn.

Or one of the "big steel keg" or "broil king keg" or whatever they call it these days.  If I recall correctly it has a hitch mount so you may be able to use that to rig to the swing arm.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

I would really check out the bumper before doing this.  On the RV forums I read, there are stories of bumper mounted bike racks cracking the bumpers.  Most RV bumpers aren't good for holding anything other than the sewer hose.
  • I'd try to find a place in storage to put the ring and firebox so they won't get busted all up.  The fab shop can easily make and powder coat a rack for the egg.  Storage would be best in a container that could also store some egging toys.  All the egg toys would be pulled out while camping so that interior space will not be compromised.
