Lifter for both Plate Setter & High-Que Stainless Grid

Looking for recommendations for a tool that will serve as a lifter for both the plate setter and the High-Que Luxury Stainless Cooking Grid (which has thicker bars situated closer together, so the regular grip-type grid lifter doesn't work real well).

So far, the only thing I've found is the Ott Grill Lifter, but I've never heard it mentioned here or in any of the other popular forums, so I thought I'd check in and see what other alternatives might be more popular and/or recommended.

Thanks!

I am a huge fan of the Ott grid lifter. They make a plate setter lifter in addition to the grid lifter. Simple but excellent products. I do not have the high q grid but it does fit between the cast iron grid which is pretty closely spaced. Good luck.

Thanks much, Matt; I don't think this has been mentioned on this forum before, and looks a lot safer than the C-clamp I use.

Is there another place to order it, that you know of?  I see eBay only processes through PayPal, and PayPal has never accepted my credit card (I've tried for years to correct this, they are unresponsive).  Thanks.

I have the SS grid and the Ceramic Grill Store Woo is what you need. If you Like I can post a pic tomorrow when I get back to the house. And you can use the Woo without the plate setter to have the grid at felt level.

I don't know, but I'd guess if you message him through FB, he'd work something out with you.

To clarify, I'm not looking for something to elevate a grid in the dome (I have a multi-tier grid for that). Look for a tool to lift out a grid and the platesetter (while hot).

Also, check for local retailers near you. We carry this in our store, I'm sure others do as well.

We have the grid lifter. The third hand is prolly the original. It's been around forever. I don't know if it is sold by retailers. I really like the grid lifter and I'm sure I would equally like the third hand it is very handy to lift the grid and hang from my egg mates or SS prep table. Real nice tool.

    Nor mine.   Long story.

  • Here the Ott grid lifters are:

Awesome, so if I only wanted to use one, can I get the wider one (the one that appears designed for the plate setter) and use it for both the plate setter and the grid (separately)?

Yes, but it is a bit harder to use as a grate lifter than the actual grate lifter. Slightly different bend to it. It does work though. Get one and if you don't like it for grate lifting then consider the other. The claw made by innovations by chance is another awesome tool for plate setters. It is only available for the LBGE though.

Here are the pics I have. The nice thing is if you need to remove it just grab the handles and you can tend to the lump, add wood, lump and makes cleaning easy. If you want to go direct just slide the plate setter out and the grid is still at the same height. With the weight of the grid this by far the easiest way.
