Two Turkeys??

Thanksgiving was just thrust into my lap for my wife's family... Anyone have success fitting two turkeys onto an XL? I know they advertise that you can fit two, but I was wondering if that'd be a stretch or not.

Thanks!

I have an XL and was planning on doing a Turkey and a Prime Rib. We should only have about 6-8 people here so a 12-16 lb turkey is what I was planning on.

Do one in the egg and one in the fryer. Should be close to the same cook time. Tell us which is better.

I've only done a 20 pound one and it would be tight to do two without them touching.  Maybe two 15 pound turkeys or a 20 and a 15.  I am planning on a 15 pound turkey and an 8 to 10 pound ham.

What if you spatchcocked both turkeys? It would take an additional 2nd grid but might be the best way to fit two birds

Thanks for the feedback, guys. It may wind up being a turkey and a ham like @Ladeback69, but I kind of wanted to do turkey two ways and still leave the oven open for anything else.

The fryer is definitely an option.

I'm going to be getting a second rack this weekend for a large cook I'm doing for a Halloween party. I didn't think about the two tiered spatchcock, I think @WeberWho? may be right and that's the way to go.

Unfortunately I may not know how big of a crowd we're having until the day before... I swear, sometimes it's like herding cats with ADHD.
