New egg replaced with another....
After owning the my 1st LBGE for less than 3 weeks, I noticed that the rear seal was pealing off. I guess the ring was installed too low and the rear bottom of the dome would rub behind the lower seal every time it was closed.
I checked even closer and found that the dome was not aligned with base with only part of the seal touching. I should have caught it in the beginning but I was having too much fun grilling with it.
I tried messing with the hinge and rings but it was bent to the right. I called American Sale and they said they will come out and look at it.......Next thing you know, they replaced my egg.
The only issue I saw was that the guys they sent out were not really trained on installing these eggs. After 45 minutes I came out and they were still trying to put the dome on. I noticed that they removed the white plastic tab that locks the hinge closed and tried installing the dome with hinge open. I had to stop them from trying to bend the hinge brackets when they were trying to line it up with the dome, this is probably why my first egg wasn't centered to begin with. I guess the guys were just looking at the pictures on the instructions and I had to point out that is says not to remove it.
Oh well....time to break-in another egg......

It sounds like you are dealing with a good dealer, but it also sounds like they need to do a better job training their people.

I'm definitely grateful that they replaced it.....I heard replacing the seal isn't a fun task
