lol, different strokes I suppose.  It would be my worst nightmare to be on all that.  I enjoy this forum, but have no desire to go beyond.

One of the coolest things is the interaction. There's a ticker running of comments, questions, etc.

Hmmm...that's a great idea to just keep an eye on things while away from the house.  I don't have a wifi temp probe, but I can point a web cam at my setup.

Anyone use it for that?

I think for something like this one of the wi-fi cameras with built in remote viewing might be better.  I think periscope uses the camera on your device so if you wanted to use it for this you would have to leave a device pointed at the egg.

Nope. Periscope has to be initiated from a mobile device, so it can't be used remotely

That's what I was thinking, actually. I have an extra mobile device I can use to stream from, and I could then monitor it from something else.

I have seen the other wifi setups, they don't look bad either.  But I was thinking of what can I do with what I already own.

Here is my (cheap!) remote set up for when I have to leave for awhile during a long cook.  A Maverick 732, an old Iphone, and "Manything" broadcasting software (free version).  Absolutely no control, but I can log in on my regular Iphone from anywhere and see if all is as expected...

Just watched my first periscope broadcast: the BMW M2 reveal.  Very interesting concept.  (The app - not the car). I can already see a problem with sifting through all the garbage being broadcast to find something interesting.
