Question About Shelf Height

in EGG Table Forum
Good evening.
I have a question.
I am building a table for my XL Egg.
My question is concerning the second shelf.  How many inches should I allow from the top of the second shelf to the top of the table?
I DO NOT HAVE THE EGG YET.  I will be putting the egg in a table nest, once the table is complete.
Any suggestions you can give will be greatly appreciated.

    Options
    12 1/2" from lower shelf (finished surface where egg nest sits) to top of finished top.  Need that to allow for the drop on the hinge when you open the XL. Any less and you will end up notching your finished top to allow the hinge to do it's thing.

    Thanks littlerascal.  I have a blueprint that shows 12 1/2 inches but it seemed too shallow.  Just wanted a second opinion before I continue.  By the way your pizza looks great!
