Tried a new rub on the Steak

I was at the store yesterday and found NY strips on sale BOGO and couldn't resist.  We have really been enjoying the Lane's Ancho Expresso on our steaks but I decided to try something different.  One Steak I used the Lane's and the other I dusted with Dizzy Pig Red Eye Express.

Also peeled and skewered some shrimp and dusted them with Caribeque Original Calypso seasoning.

I paired the steaks with baked taters rubbed with EVOO and Roasted Garlic Sea Salt and corn on the cob in the husk.  A little salad with the meal and Peach Pie with Vanilla ice cream for desert.

It was a toss-up between the two steak rubs, both had a very distinct flavor.  My wife and I split the two steaks so we could each try them.  I know that in the future I will use either rub and enjoy the hell out of the cook.  But that shrimp was a winner for sure.  The shrimp will be a constant visitor to the grill many times over.

Titusville, Fl. and just bought XL and Med BGE.  "Every Day is A Bonus" in my world, and my job is to choke the life out of them. Cancer Sucks.
