    I was going to post the photo of my cook center being rained on before building the Chicken Coop, but Carolina Q beat me to it.  

    I just let it rain all night on it.  No problems at all with the cook or the end result.  A few times before I just placed the rain cap on top of the daisy wheel and it kept the rain off.  

    I'd worry more about it snowing in mid September while you're cooking.  Then you would need to change your recipe to chili.

    Picked up one of these at Home Depot, Its not really needed, but it does work well.

    I've been following this thread since the beginning, and looking at some of the pictures I gotta tell ya the thought crossed my mind that sum youz guys be nuts!! 
    ...then the wife brings home a fresh turkey breast last night, said we could egg it today. 
    About 20 min. in it started to rain... in Southern California... in SEPTEMBER.  It NEVER rains here in September.
    Karma... that's that it is, karma.

    Had a butt on a couple Friday nights ago with the DigiQ pit controller.  Egg was on the deck parked next to canopy covering a table and chairs and DigiQ was sitting on chair just barely under cover.  Wife and I were out at a local restaurant.  Just as we ordered dinner the bottom fell out of the sky and it dumped the entire time we ate......blowing rain.  I was sick just certain the DigiQ was toast but didn't want to ruin dinner so kept my mouth shut.  When we got home the seat cushion was a puddle under the unit but it was still plugging away.  I was soooooo relieved.  Dodged a bullet this time - won't make that mistake again.
