You use that baby like a tandoori and just slap the naan on the sides?

No, I can't fit my arm through the little hole.

Dude, I love dal makhani. Couldn't make it to save my life but I did it on the egg tonight and it was awesome. Then it came to me that they actually make it on the tandoors. Needed the smoke.

Nice job man, I love spinach paneer. Two dal dishes? What's the protein? btw, it's not authentic unless you ate with your right hand onlycanuckland

The guy has listed his tandoor again, did he not sell it to you?

swmbo got quite good at making dosa, not paper thin though, yes it's a lot of work and needs overnight fermentation. Sure, we freeze leftover dal often.canuckland

I've been meaning to comment on this thread for 2 days now
That's some stellar looking grub, my short friend. And you get extra credit for the "section thali". I love those things, SWMBO hates them. Reminds us of school mess halls when we were little.
A friend recently made rajma in her KJ (which I convinced her to buy), and it was some of the best I've had. The beans were so tender. Back in the day, the tandoor was the OJ slow cooker, as it cooled overnight.
Oh and dal freezes well. Potatoes don't.

I bought them for a fishing trip and made a lamb curry, saag paneer and some other stuff. All the guys got the runs real bad. For this one I had aloo gobi and fish pakora on the menu as well but this stuff is time consuming and never got around to it. First try at sambar and I was really happy.

Thanks by the way. It was a long day. The dal cooked for eight hours.

Thats it. I've been getting bored with ribs, shoulders, butts, etc (not brisket ).
I think I'm going to start trying more ethnic foods. That Indian food is making my mouth water.Maybe your purpose in life is only to serve as an example for others? - LPL

This is really good. Soak the dals overnight and skip the pressure cooker.
