Bug a salt illegal?

i had one shipped to the border and I am picking it up this Friday. My sous chef who is a hunter said I may have some problems bringing it across the border.
Has anyone brought one across the border?

Wondered the same thing, would love to take it camping when we fly to WA next summer...
Southlake, TX and Cowhouse Creek - King, TX.  2 Large, 1 Small and a lot of Eggcessories.
  • I bought on a few weeks ago and got the camo version. They work and perform as advertised.

I bought mine from their initial campaign a few years ago. I remember they ran into major difficulties trying to get approval to get them into a few countries.

I think they actually just had to give up on getting them into Australia and some European countries. Don't recall if there were any problems with Canada.

  • How can people cross the border with shotguns for hunting and not a bug a salt?

my boss travels to Saskatoon to hunt geese every year. This past year, the guy driving up tried to cross the border and found out he had a bench warrant and couldn't cross the border. He had to come home and the remainder of the group bought all new equipment and had it shipped to their hotel. (They were flying in) THAT made a good story.

They do sell them on Amazon.ca. So no restrictions there.

As long as the paperwork is there and it isn't a restricted weapon you can bring it in.

I didnt do do my paperwork for my bug a salt. Lol

I want one to season food with.  If someone asks for salt I will shoot their food with it.

Don't tell your problems to people.  80% of people don't care and 20% are glad you have them.

Instead of Emeril's "Bam" you could go "Blam".

It shall now be referred to as "The Mother-in-law salt dispenser"

    btw

It wouldn't surprise me even a little if the salt gun was held up at the Canadian border (I'm Canadian, and you wouldn't believe the gun laws up there)

hopefully whoever is selling it fixed the paperwork so it doesnt say gun =) few years ago i built a paper pulp digester which my customer sold to uruguay, paper work had the term pressure "vessel' on it. somehow it was interpreted as a military war ship =)  government came down hard, money payments held, bank accounts frozen, no flights etc :D nine months it was cleared up but im sure my customer is now on a list somewhere =) and here you are with a scary salt dispensing GUN

Just got off the phone with CBSA.

They asked what the FPS was on it, I said it doesn't have one it can only shoot 3 ft away.

They said to check the Canadian firearms list to see if the gun is on there, if it isn't you should be ok.

I checked and I didn't see it. WHEW!!!!

Well I stopped at the border on the Canadian side before going into the U.S.  I showed them a pic and explained what it was and all was good.
