Beef Brisket

Options
Hi everyone..
I think I'm ready to try a beef brisket. Ive watched alot of videos, read up in the forums so I'm going to give it a shot. One question though. I'm also an avid camper and I was wondering if I can vacuum seal the leftover brisket. Will it still retain the moisture and be just as good? I just want to be able to slowly reheat the leftovers over a low bbq.

  • I'd add a little beef broth to the vac bag before sealing. Did that with a brisket that I did last weekend (and slightly overcooked and dried out a bit) and the leftovers came out very tender and juicy.

Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.

NO!! If vac sealed it will be BETTER I just finished brisket that I vac sealed 7/4 and it was very moist, very flavorful, very tender. There is something about the vac process that just makes pulled pork and brisket better. Not to argue with  T of N but broth is not needed if brisket is not overly dry. When reheating if at all possible try to reheat in hot water, not boiling, just hot while still in vac bag.

  • All great suggestions. My brisket is only six pounds, so if I cook at 250, roughly how long would that take?

I have vacuumed sealed brisket slices and brunt ends then froze them for another meal down the road.  I thawed them, made a small hole in the bad and heated it up in the microwave for about a minute and they tasted great.  Not a bad idea to add a little juice either.
