@Wolfpack- the above is not surprising to me. Today the gubmint "provides so much to so many". And the "Big Bad Socialists" of the 20th century (The Red Menace) is in a different space today. Thus your opinion of the pro's and con's of the gubmint intervention is quite skewed from those who have a different base-line reference.
Reminds me of a phrase, "Where you stand is where you sit." And just look around at the world climate today-no one could have predicted this mash-up 15 years ago. Off soap-box for now.

I know exactly where I stand on many of the issues but I'm torn on some of the others that I am not as informed about. I do admit to consciously and probably sometimes subconsciously choosing the party line when I don't have a strong opinion either way.

But honestly I'm looking hard at the only nonpoliticians from either side, Trump, Carson and Fiorina. Sick and damn tired of the lifelong politico, most of whom have never had a real job in their life.
Sanders was at the bottom which is not surprising since he's a self-professed socialist.

@KennyLee Yes - the VA is AFU. I have two brother-in-laws that are engineers at two VA hospitals and I've talked to them extensively about why that is. I think you would be ashamed. But suffice it to say, the affordable care act is not government health care like the VA is. It's not that hard to understand.

This makes sense on paper. I don't think anyone argues that. But what it means to me is the federal government has increased its size and scope by taking over yet another sector of my life. In doing this they have also made the health coverage I purchase for my family go from just under $500/month to almost $1,100/month.......another tax. And they know I'll pay it because I HAVE TO. So I get out of bed and drag my ass to work again and again while taking home less. Yet again the working folks are forced to work harder and longer for less so an ever increasing number of people who don't want to don't have to. It's not the place of government to be all things to all people. Care of the elderly, indigent, widowed and orphaned should be the responsibility of the church and private industry....not the gubmint.

i dont know if that is really true or not. what i see happening here at work is that we always paid 100 percent health, picked the plan that covered the most employees best, but when things went wrong there would be an irate employee in the office screaming the plan sucked and it was our fault. since romneycare and now obamacare one thing has changed, we still pay 100 percent, we still weed thru and pick the best plan for everyone, No one yells at the boss and throws bills around, this is now their plan, they still hate it but its now their problem and they really have no one to scream at that cares. its no longer the companies plan even though we pay for it, its not really like that but the perception is there.Acn said:
