Are Rutland Gaskets Safe??

I know people love them, but Rutland says they are not safe for use around food (unless I'm missing something). See this letter. Thoughts?

Wasn't this just addressed in another post?Making the neighbors jealous in Pleasant Hill, Ia one cook at a time...

They arent safe. Most of the few thousand, perhaps ten thousand people who have used them the past ten fifteen years have cancer or are already dead

Yep. But I wasn't sure if I could navigate the site to find people's responses so I just started a new post. My original gasket still works fine so I was just curious what people thought. Some strong opinions out there!

Three times you have posted this so here for the third time is my reply.Humpy_Dumpty said:I know people love them, but Rutland says they are not safe for use around food (unless I'm missing something). See this letter. Thoughts?
Since you lifted that letter from a long report authored by The Naked Whiz then it seems only fair that the entire report and evaluation be made available to interested parties with open minds so they can make their own informed decision. Here is that link:

It's not opinions that are strong. I never offer opinions.
It's logic and fact. Some people don't deal well with forming their own opinions based on logic and fact, and that's ok. That's why they have cable news, to tell people what to think.
I have a rutland. With what used to be the antichrist's own adhesive (hi temp gasket maker, which even RRP has come around on instead of the inferior rutland cement). When I drop dead, it may be due to the adhesive, but it can't possibly be the rutland. Why? I don't inhale the fibers or eat off of it.
Seriously. The most dangerous thing you can do is eat grilled fatty meat multiple times a week. The rutland is the last thing here that will kill you[social media disclaimer: irony and sarcasm may be used in some or all of user's posts; emoticon usage is intended to indicate moderately jocular social interaction; the comments toward users, their usernames, and the real people (living or dead) that they refer to are not intended to be adversarial in nature; those replying to this user are entering into a tacit agreement that they are real-life or social-media acquaintances and/or have agreed to or tacitly agreed to perpetrate occasional good-natured ribbing between and among themselves and others]
