Great looking cook at the ace place. Just one question if you could could help. Is the a cork used as a spacer on your thermo?

    Yes. It backs thermometer tip away from sweet spot in dome so it doesn't hit meat on small eggs when close the dome. It also backs it up so flame doesn't hit it when starting a fire and leaving lid open a bit.

    Thanks for the response  I was pretty sure I knew the reason I've just never thought about us ring a cork .  This is why I love this forum genius every where I look!
