I agree with @cazzy; I've been to Lugers three times (customers' choosing not mine) and have never liked the steaks. If it's my choice I'll pick Sparks every time.Basking Ridge, NJ - XL with KAB

OK, so there too many choices here, but the the list includes Old Homestead, Spark's, Quality Meats, Peking Duck House, Keen's, Patsy's, and others I've found; 21 Club, Dominic's, Delmonico's. And the icon Katz's Deli. Any other can't miss places? Thanks for the guide. I know I won't go hungry on this trip.

Yeah, but it should never be put on a steak! I tried and there was no way it was touching my steak. Perhaps that was the missing flavor it needed though. Hmmm.fishlessman said:nobodys mentioned the luger sauce, great on shrimp and tomatoesJust a hack that makes some $hitty BBQ.... -

Found a recipe for the STEAK SAUCE, and want to try it with the grilled bacon.

@Sweet100swow I love your list here - brilliant!! This is similar to the way I think when we splurge for a nice dinner, but never seen it in writing.Sweet100s said:Agree with @cazzy 's experience at Peter Luger's. Family said my steaks were much better, and I'm no expert with the Egg. The thick bacon was the treat.
Tops on my list for next trip to NYC is the Peking Duck House on 53rd between 2nd and 3rd OR the peking duck at Hakkasan on 49th for something fancier. My preference for special meals when eating out on trips are for dishes that are
1) Regional / local specialty
2) Something beyond my skill level
3) Something that would take too much time for me to make
Peking duck fits 2) and 3) above, and I've got to think that NYC would do it well.Columbus, OH
