When I went to the store in ATL, they did have eggs for sale along with EVERY Eggcessory. I don't think it was any cheaper though..."Quality and convenience are rarely seen walking hand in hand."- Alton Brown

They sell at MSRP. That is to protect there dealer network or everyone would just make a road trip and save a hundo and make a trip to hotlanta.1 XXL BGE, 1 LG BGE, 2 MED. BGE, 1 MINI BGE, 1 Peoria custom cooker Meat Monster.Clinton, Iowa

OK then, what are you all seing the large eggs only going for in your areas?
-
In the end your best checking out your dealers. See which one treats you best. A good dealer is worth a few extra bucks.

I have been. Thats where I got the prices listed above.

Transportation is a real factor in the dealers' final selling price so may I suggest you reveal where you live so you don't have an apples and oranges comparison. BTW are you near somewhere that still will be having an Eggfest yet this year? If so most dealers discount eggs 10% which can be a nice savings plus most times they throw in some other eggcessories as well!scmoose said:OK then, what are you all seing the large eggs only going for in your areas?Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time -
Im in the Raleigh NC area. Are there any tips tricks aside from eggfest, as there arent any near here, to get a discount. Like ordering one from a dealer unasembled ext...

I was just about to ask where you were and then I saw that you were in Raleigh. I know weinbergers in Augusta GA has very reasonable prices. I'm in Spartanburg SC and it's pretty expensive around here. It wouldn't be worth the 5 hour drive for you to get to Augusta.1 large BGE, Spartanburg SC

Ive got connections that frequent that area. I work for a pipeline company and we run through there. Is it feasable to get a large only for under 700.00?

I've ordered a grate and they shipped it. Whole eggs not sure.Seattle, WA

I'm not sure what your situation is, or what the timing/need is for you. But I can say this from experience. I bought my first Egg, my XL, from the Porkopolis Eggfest. The fest was in July and I preordered and paid for it in March. Those were 5 VERY long months. In the end, it would have been worth it to buy it from my dealer to have it and use it for the extra five months. Then I would have been a little more experienced and would have gotten more out of the fest when I attended it. Just my $0.02
Like I said, not sure what you're timeframe/needs are, just wanted to offer up my experience. Best of luck finding your large BGE and I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Ive got a medium and use is several times a week. Just looking for a little more wiggle room.

If you're in the Georgia area go to Bargain Barn in Jasper GA. I paid $900 (including tax) for a large egg, cast iron grate, plate setter, and ash tool. The egg itself is $650 (I believe, possibly $699).

The mothership sells demo eggs and floor models at a discount so it might be worth a phone call to them. I went in looking for a mini max and came out with a superb deal on an unused floor model medium with table.

Mothership is expensive. Cheapest place I have seen is Roswell hardware in Roswell georgia. I will probably swing by today to get rub will ask what their price is.
-
I bought a once used demo form the Mothership before they moved to the new location. Paid $789 for the LBGE, nest, composite shelves, PS, eggcessories, and a bag of charcoal. I called my local Ace dealer and he said if I didn't buy it, he would, so I figured I was getting a decent deal.LBGE 2015 - Atlanta

Since you already have a medium and you didn't mind driving to ATL maybe you could get a demo egg at the big eggfest. I'm not sure what they go for but it would probably be worth attending the event too.1 large BGE, Spartanburg SC

No but he would do me a favor. Not burry the price of an egg in the project some where kind of favor though.
-
Oh, I never meant that! What I was thinking was saving a few bucks is one thing, but when (not IF) but when your fire box breaks and you have other warranty claims as well will he be willing or even still on the job to be your runner? For sake of the bucks saved you might be better off establishing a relationship with your local dealer. That is ALL I meant!scmoose said:No but he would do me a favor.
