OT - Counter top Fryer
My cheapo fryer just died so I'm looking for recommendations on a replacement. Light duty holding a gallon or so of oil to be used on regular old 120v. Any suggestions?

I don't have this one but it has good reviews:

Bought a cheap one many years ago that died on us. My wife did a bunch of research and had certain features that she wanted for the new one. We ended up with a Calphalon that has served us well for many years. Auto off, removable oil basin, separate heating element (removable).
I imagine the model is no longer available. Ours is similar to this, but was far less expensive.

The Waring has good recovery time after cold or frozen food is added to the fryer - http://amzn.com/B005Z4935O. If you are a Costco member, I have seen these recently but it may not be the exact model. Cooks Illustrated rated the Waring DF250B as their winner but 280 is the same price with the digital controls.LBGE | DigiQ | SW Cap | KAB | iGrill2 | CI PS | PSWoo2 | HQ Grid | Extender

Thanks all. I actually own the Waring 280 and purchased it 2 years ago this month. I'm going to try something different this time. Looking at the Waring 1000 and the Breville line too. Also, looking at light weight commercial stuff Like the Vollrath. A bit pricey though. Thanks again.Joe - I'm a reformed gasser-holic aka 4Runner Columbia, SC Wonderful BGE Resource Site: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/ceramicfaq.htm and http://www.nibblemethis.com/ and http://playingwithfireandsmoke.blogspot.com/2006/02/recipes.html
