Spatchcocked half chickens with herbs

First attempt with raised direct for chicken....loved it!  My 3 beer cans worked nicely (for now) and will use this method again for sure.

Rubbed with olive oil and herbs from the garden under the skin, salt and pepper, cherry wood chips for about an hour. Threw on a few spicy chicken sausages too and some sangria for good measure
