Outdoor Kitchen Weber Genesis help

I'm thinking that someone here can help and has probably come up with an inventive fix to my problem. I'm building an outdoor kitchen for my BGE L & MM. no problem there. 

The he issue is that I was given a weber genesis propane grill when I got married and SHMBO doesn't want to part with. I also don't want to spend another thousand dollars on a built in propane grill top for the new kitchen. 

Has anyone here encountered a similar issue? Is there a way to convert my stand alone weber genesis into a built in. Can the grill portion of it be removed from the aluminum body?

I had same issue and I halfass did mine l had no tools,no way to cut stone but it works kind of rustic looking I guess.Also had Weber Genesis.

I may have to do the same but I'd love to find a way to remove the cooktop and discard the aluminum cart.
