Mini max at work
Not a lot of pictures of mini max on this forum so I decided to share a couple pictures of my first long cook on my mm. 5 lb boneless pork butt. I rubbed down with Worcestershire sauce and texas Bbq grand champion rub.
I put a temp probe on the grate to monitor temperature. It's reading about 80 degrees hotter than the green egg probe on the lid. I guess those aren't calibrated from the factory. Pork butt is cooking at 280 because I can't get the mm any cooler than that. I've hit the stall at 175. Waiting.......

Welcome. No pics "yet". You'll need to check the calibration on the Tel-Tru dome thermometer and if it's off cal then it can be adjusted using the nut on the backside. Remember 100℃ is 212℉ (easier to cal this way imo). And what do you mean by ....meturncl said:Not a lot of pictures of mini max on this forum

Is it possible you dome temp gauge is really close to the butt or even touching it to cause the temp fluctuation?Plumbers local 130 chicago. Why do today what you can do tomorrow

Then made some sides on the large. Corn, onions, and abts. Gotta try to the onions. They're good.Geaux Tigers

@Roadpuke0^^^^^Yes it is. Agreed. Test calibration. For larger cooks (or where the meat could be poked by the probe or just the steam etc) a cork does the trick. I just leave mine on. Just make sure the notch is in the dome or you won't get a good reading.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

Better view of the table I built a couple weeks ago. Still need to add a drawer and doors for the cabinet.

NpHuskerFl... Found the cooking grid at academy sports. It was only 18 bucks for cast iron.
I bet the temp probe was either touching the butt or very close to it. I'll make adjustments. Thanks for the advice and the compliments. I'll post more pics, I cook almost every night.
