XL cover / table...

New Egghead with a BGE XL. So far, I have it in a rolling nest with side tables (came that way in a package). Ultimately, I plan to put it in a built-in kitchen, but I do like the idea of a table. So, two questions:
1) Any recommendations on a cover that isn't $100? I don't need it to last 10 years just a few years.
2) I've looked for various plans on-line, but I either find LARGE plans or some woodworker's site that wants me to pay for plans. I'm only barely handy - are there any simple plans out there that I can use so that I have a place to store the egg and the basic accessories?
Thanks,
Russ

Welcome to the forum and the lifestyle.
Here's a good start for table plans: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/tableplans/tableplans.htm
As for a cover, not really necessary (at all for the egg itself) especially if your only looking to get a few years out of your table. My table sits out all year long (Southern Onatrio) uncovered. It doesn't look brand new any more but it still does what it was designed to do and is in really good shape.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.____________________Aurora, Ontario, Canada -
@TexanOfTheNorth is right. I made a table out of cedar and bought the table cover. However I'm not as diligent as I could be about covering it all up. I just worry about birds crapping on my egg from time to time and it makes me go put the cover on.

Don't forget about BGE HQ itself being a source of info!

Welcome>
If you plan on building a table soon and really want to cover it a 10x10 tarp at your local big box store should work, but I don't cover mine tell the winter to keep snow off of it and freezing shut.
Good luck on the table.XL, WSM, Coleman Road Trip Gas GrillKansas City, Mo.
