New ELBGE owner

Hello just bought a BGE last week other than a credit card receipt thats all I got with it. When I asked about additional paperwork that comes with it instructions, guarantee ect. he replied all the information is online. Is this correct? seems unusual

  • I'm lucky enough to live in Atlanta so I've always dealt with the HQ.  It doesn't sound quite right to me for any transaction.

Yes, that is normal ... everything you need to know is right on the front page of this website ... all the instruction you can ever need is right here on this forum.

    Congratulations on your purchase!

  • First off, welcome to the forum, you will find here any and all information you would need. That does sound a little funky, I would go to the Mothership website and register your Egg at the very least and then see if you can contact someone there to find out what information should come with the Egg and then go back to the vendor. Kind of a pain but some work now might save some heartache later. Best of luck and post pics of your cooks!

As long as the receipt shows the name of the dealer and what was purchased I think you should be fine.  If it is just a credit card slip that shows the total amount then I would ask for an itemized receipt from the dealer.

They seem to go back and forth on whether or not the receipt is needed for a warranty claim- so to be safe hold on to that receipt.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

Seems to me your BGE dealer is lacking in basic customer service for an item that costs as much as a Large. What, are they pissed you didn't buy any over priced options where the real dealer profit resides?

I would take the opportunity to make a statement about this dealer on the registration form - this is a highly desired brand name product for retailers.

My dealer gave me my a receipt, with some other information about the egg and how to register it all inside a nice green folder.  That was the day I bought it. Two days late they delivered it assembled minus the fire box, fire ring and plate setter, they installed and showed me how to use.  That's why customer service is so important, but not all of them do it.  I would register it soon the m forum here can help you out with other things and you have problems with a claim down the road at your dealer, try and find one that has better customer service.
