Loved everything about my XL except the wheels...fixed that. No problems now. Glides across the flagstone patio and various uneven surfaces. Gotta smoke something now.

Chrome paint on those rims is easily doable

I want to see the double smoke stacks belching out VOC smoke, with some nice shiny chrome "fuel tanks".Columbus, Ohio--A Gasser filled with Matchlight and an Ugly Drum.

If you check through older posts from caliking he did a very nice and easy mod to the nest so it can take the 4 hole casters. Basically a frame of notched angle iron around the bottom of the nest. I did it on my large before I sold it and put 8" casters and you would have had to football tackle it to knock it over.

Thanks for the fun comments!...couldn't get them in chrome! I considered the handler but the problem was more with the wheel size and the hard plastic material the wheels are made of. The new wheels are 6" and pnuematic and give a fantastic ride. No trouble getting over uneven surfaces now. Super smooth rolling now and even feels more stable.
Here's a few pics of the patio some asked about. Built myself but took many many months. We use it all the time so worth the effort. Crawfish boil with 100 quart pot on the right and fridge with plenty of beer. Fireplace is bi-fuel, can run as gas or wood.

I like those wheels. Where did you pick them up from? I need something like that on the BGE table I am building. My patio is all flag stone and is probably rougher than yours looks. Good luck moving something with hard wheels on my patio.

@LiveToEat - you obviously know what you are doing. Wish I had that skill. I can make time. FYI. @4Runner, thanks for the tip about the "@" usage.
@Toxarch , @Medium-Rare ....I got the casters online from apollocaster.com. Search for 6" and it shows up or you can search on pnuematic as well. The threaded stem diameter is 1/2" and the nest holes are only 3/8" so you have to drill out the nest parts to 1/2". I couldn't find any 6" casters with 3/8" stems anywhere in the Internet.
@Jeepster47 , agree. But the change has actually made the rolling so smooth and it feels even more stable than before. The pnuematic tires provide a shock absorber quality so the movement isn't jarring and it easily traverses gaps and bumps. I've got some ideas of tying the egg to the nest but don't think I'll need to. If I do I'll post what I do. Thanks for the info on the handlerApril 2015 XL ... My Eggsperience has just begun!
