I spent some time researching how to make one. Doesn't seem overly difficult. But then again, theory and practice are two very different things. That's a really nice piece of culinary art. So much easier in knives with the end cut too.

All of the ones he had the day I saw him were diff abstract designs like that. I think he just likes building that jig saw design

Guy also makes wooden bowls, wine toppers (g/f bought two from him) and other things. I really am interested in making the boards myself.

Beautiful board.  The round design is a great table display board.

I've also considered building one.  Unfortunately, my to do list is already too long.  If you look closely, every fourth side-to-side piece is the same ... just flipped.  Thus, only every eighth side-to-side piece is exactly the same pattern. Not quite like Tetris, but it sure leans that way.  Yes I know, I'm a nerd looking for patterns instead of simply enjoying the overall beauty.

Anyone know of that one guy owned up to giving those one boards away?  I don't think I ever noticed a post of folks receiving their boards or not.

And thanks, it is a local guy who i met a Crawfish festival who makes. I was blown away at the price. I will be buying 2-3 more. I bought a John Boos board few months back and these are way cheaper and all end grain

Really nice.  

They aren't hard to make, but if you are making one, you may as well make a half dozen.  It wouldn't be much more work once you are set up.
