Turbo butt running a little hot - Help

Options
Set up my MBGE for a ~6# turbo butt.  Got the temp about 275 & put meat on.  Dome temp via my wireless Maverick has held steady @ 298-300 for last 20 minutes.  Vents are damn near closed!  Daisy wheel is nearly shut & bottom vent has maybe .3" open.  Leave it & let it settle in or close it all the way down?
My daughter named my Egg Shrek, because it is big, green, and burps.

    I turboed a 8# butt yesterday at 350. Took 5.5 hours to reach 200. I sure wouldn't sweat 300!

Thanks RRP... I thought I was aiming for ~275 on the turbo method.  Obviously I don't do this often enough! :bawling:

No - turbo is considered 325 to 350. I chose the 350 due to a deadline.

    ^^This

    Have fun!

Good news is either way it will end up great, just takes longer to go non-turbo.

PS - sounds like you need a new gasket if you can't get down too low?  Ron may be able to help there too :pensive:

300 is what I call hybrid turbo, good compromise between turbo (350) and lo-n-slo (250).

280 to 300 dome is the sweet spot for me on shoulders and butts. Did a small shoulder today and I'm abut to bust right now from eating it.
