Fiddlehead Ferns, HELP!

My friend Lambchop informed me this morning that the local speciality produce stand has fiddleheads and morels in fresh. Have seen many posts here ref fiddleheads, but since until this week never had any in the local stores never saved the thoughts. Am planning on rack of lamb and fiddleheads. any help is eggpreciated. TIA!

I'm a novice, but I understand you can get sick if they are improperly prepared. I gather boiling for 15 minutes is required. Read the U Maine link.

i just saute in butter with some garlic BUT your supposed to blanch first. use them like asparagus, the make a good quiche, also good pickled. i was sauteing them long before i heard your supposed to blanch them so maybe im immune

So far over three weekends i have found at least 5 or more pounds. Shawnee national forest is where they are!
