Rib Roast From this weekend. Did it a little different.

I cut the ribs off and smoked them a few hours before I put the roast on. I used Mickey's coffee rub and liked how all of the meat was covered in the rub. This is the first time I cooked the ribs separate. The meat turned out great medium rare through out the meat.

Looks great to me.Henderson TN. 1 large BGE, 1 Webber Gasser (recently seems to have converted into a warming oven)

So just to be sure, you removed the ribs and cooked them separately the entire time? The meat looks delicious.

Coach,
Excellent! What was the temp / approximate time you cooked at? I have a rib roast on deck for a cook soon.Living the good life smoking and joking -

Put the ribs on for three hours before the roast. Smoked everything at around 225. I did notice the roast cooks a lot faster without the ribs attached. Done several rib roast. This was the best I've ever done. Liked how the crust was over the whole roast too. Also Mickey's coffee rub is a perfect taste match for a rib roast.
