Tooting my own horn here, but Hearth & Patio is where I have been teaching BGE cooking classes now for 9 years. Guess there must be something called staying power! LOL

Ron, you offering 20% off on gaskets?

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I might have to make the trip and check it out. I'm only about 2hrs south (IL side of STL). I have been on the fence about picking up a medium too..  :pensive: :

If you can pull both the baby and the party off that close, you have a special wife....

youll be going to the party to get some sleep!

Over the years we have had several eggers drive up from the St Louis area. It's an easy drive! BTW you can be the person who cooks first on that medium and still receive the 10% discount and the stated eggcessories plus for cooking on it for the public then they will also give you a fresh 20 bag of lump in appreciation! Think about it!

A pal and I went last year and it is a fun little Eggfest. Great people making some really great food. You will have fun if you go and be sure to get a piece of Ron's cake if he bakes one. We are hoping to attend this year if all is well.

LOL - that cake has taken on a reputation of its own. I learned not to run out so I baked 2 last year! Amongst other things of course! I missed a shot of that special hooch you brought last year - maybe this year I'll get lucky!

For others considering attending or even cooking at this event here's some points to help in your decision. This Peoria Eggfest is a one day event, with no meet & greet the night before, nor any after party that night. It is also free! It runs from 8 am to 3 pm and it's a BYOB if you prefer as there are no vendors selling refreshments. It's typically an adult event though children are welcome of course. Though it starts early and there are some of us who will have some breakfast foods to share, the majority of the food and public don't start rolling off/in until after 10:30 and then it gets heavy through about 1:30. Don't get me wrong - you won't starve after 1:30, but it will be slimmer pickings for sure! Don't expect to come meet the eggers who hang out on this forum! But if you want to eggperience a smaller family friendly venue then consider this one if you are in easy driving distance for that Saturday! You can still be home in the afternoon and have the rest of your weekend to boot! Besides that this a great chance to pick up a BGE at a 10% discount! First come first serve! One last point - this is a rain or shine event!

Didn't I tell you? I will NOT be at our old home in Dunlap - WE sold it!!!! Pat is leading the moving truck that very morning to our new hideaway in "parts unknown that even a GPS hasn't a clue!" You guys might show up here but I have forewarned the new buyer and he says he is armed and dangerous and LOUD drunks bring out his "other side". Trust me I have seen what he did to a  HUGE male African elephant that bugled when this guy was trying to get to sleep! NOT a pretty picture AT ALL! And all that blood and guts and he never even used a knife or a gun! Talk about a bad *ss dude! BTW speaking about bad *ss dudes...how's your Father? He hasn't posted here lately!

@Jeepster47 is traveling back from AZ.  Should be back and cooking soon.

First he needs to figure out how to get his new egg and table out of his basement :giggle:

Congrats on the new house Ron!  Assuming it's still in the area?

I would also like to mention if anyone is coming to the event, stop by the new Peoria Brewing Company near by.  They have great in-house brewed craft beer and yes they sell to go Growlers.  One of the owners is a fellow egghead.

Just kidding! We built this home 35 years ago, love it and plan to die here! I just didn't want a bunch of drunken Washingtonites following me home after the eggfest!
