Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup

Who doesn't like grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup? I have been toying with this idea for a while and finally tried it. I set up indirect at 400 and waited 5 minutes to check, hoping I had not burned things. Not hardly. It took 20 minutes to melt the cheese. I worried that that long would mean bread hard as a shingle. Not so, nicely toasted. The only thing I would do different is spread some soft butter on the outside of the bread

I just read in the last week or so about substituting mayo for the butter on the outside of the sammich. I haven't tried it yet but I'm intrigued...Counting to ten only makes it Premeditated.

I tried the mayo sub, it was ok, but I'm back to butter. Give it a shot, it's not bad, just not butter.Botch said:

May have to try it with buttah on one side and mayo on the other; I like complexity!
