Rockwood and a wood placement experiment

Just a quick observation that Rockwood seemed to light and come up to temp much quicker than Wicked Good. That is probably not a shock given WG reputation, but I'm throwing it out there. 

I use 6" mini splits on my drum smoker. I tried drilling them down into the charcoal vertically in a fan shape (3) around the the back of where I was starting my fire (just near side of center) it seemed to work out pretty well.
